Welcome to SRTD


SRTD project is funded by the European Union with €4 million to help the innovation and R&D sectors of the Jordanian economy.

The project aims at increasing Jordan’s scientific and technological capacity by fostering research and innovation linked to private sector and by accelerating the Kingdom’s integration into the European Research Area.

The Higher Council for Science and Technology and Jordan Enterprise are co-funding some of the activities implemented by the project.

The main objective of the SRTD programme is to boost Jordan’s scientific and technological capacities to contribute to Jordanian economic development by:

  • accelerating the integration of Jordanian researchers into the European Research community
  • developing an innovation-based culture by supporting new start-up businesses
  • increasing the commercialisation potential of research and technological added-value projects
  • providing grants to individuals with viable research or start-up ideas
The SRTD programme targets the academic community (students, professors,
researchers) and professional bodies. The programme involves the business
community and the business sectors in order to ensure its sustainability.
